Episode 32 - One Sheet Settings

00:0000:00

For this episode I challenged the Wild Die Podcast crew to create their own homebrew setting taken from a movie, tv show, comic book, video game, etc.

To make it even more challenging, everything had to fit on one sheet of paper.

Manuel did an amazing job with the layout. We each took turns presenting our creation and gave insight on how we went on about this. We hope you feel inspired to create your own setting.

We present you Castlevania, Kitchen Nightmares, Knight Rider, and Starsky & Hutch!

Episode 31 - Savage Therapy

00:0000:00

For most of us, role-playing and Savage Worlds is just a hobby. We play this game because it makes us happy.

In Australia lives a wonderful man who runs a program called Applied Role Playing Skills Program. He uses Savage Worlds to help children, teenagers and adult build social skills and confidence. In some cases these are people with social anxiety or high functioning autism. His name is Paris Conte. If you frequent social media you may know him as Pure Mongrel.

We were absolutely floored to learn how he runs this program. He's accomplished so much. Best of all, whether you're a novice or veteran GM, whether you're running a game for old friends, a new group, children or people new to the hobby, you'll hear some of the best advice and tips on this episode.

Bonus Episode - The D&D Transition

00:0000:00

Chances are that, if you're thinking about trying Savage Worlds or are playing it today, you've either started with or just came from D&D.

I've met so many people over the years of playing Savage Worlds who fit that profile. Most of them were in their 40's or 50's juggling with raising a family and having a career. Some of them were getting back into the hobby, others felt Savage Worlds fit their busy lifestyle better.

Does that sound familiar?

My co-host Gary sure fits the profile, but because he tends to ramble on and because I felt we needed more voices added to this conversation, I invited two role-players like you; John Steve and Rafael Figueroa. Together we talked about the journey from D&D to Savage Worlds. Why? What were the challenges? How did it change your gaming experience?

This discussion is filled with funny anecdotes. Our guests gave us tips on how to ease the transition. We hope you find this episode useful.

Bonus Episode - Ultima Forsan: The Confessional of the Black Penitents

00:0000:00

At the end of the Middle Ages, the Plague of the Dead has spread through Europe, Africa and Asia giving rise to the darkest time in history. Now, in the year 1514, heroes from the New Kingdoms are ready to fight to reconquer the World. Ultima Forsan is a game of wild adventures and deadly dangers, set in a macabre alternate version of our Renaissance.

Ultima Forsan is a setting for Savage Worlds that takes place during a zombie apocalypse in the Renaissance with clockpunk technology. Or as I like to call it, Leonardo DaVinci zombie hunter.

I got together with Bill Lear, Manuel Sambs and Matt Stark to play this incredibly deadly and fun game called Ultima Forsan from GG Studio in Italy. It takes place in an alternate Renaissance during a zombie apocalypse.

If you ever thought Savage Worlds is too kind on players and not gritty enough, please listen to this. Edited by the one and only Harrison, this is full of sound effects and ambiance music. Famous Italian Savage Worlds writers even make appearances as NPCs.

Bonus Episode - Punted in the Bonce: A Cockney Adventure

00:0000:00

This actual-play episode has special meaning to Eric, but especially to Harrison.

A few months ago, Harrison and Nikk came up with this idea after reading Fuhgeddaboudit! by Just Insert Imagination. It took place in London and involved pub-going Brits getting in trouble with the local gangsters. Morne and Eric really liked the idea, and thought it had a lot of potential.

Eric then invited Harrison to write Aliens vs Redneck with him so he could get familiar with the Plug & Play format. Working with Harrison was fantastic and he took Aliens vs Rednecks to another level. Just Insert Imagination immediately commissioned Punted in the Bonce from him.

Punted in the Bonce: A Cockney Adventure is available here as a pay-what-you-want product.

That said, Harrison got together with Peter Beckett, Sean Hunt and James Clarke to play this adventure. This is what happened...

Episode 29 - Olympus inc.

00:0000:00

Olympus inc. is an exciting new setting from Fabled Environments that mixes cyberpunk with Greek mythology, To talk about it, we invited Charles White, main honcho over at the FE and one of the writers. It also happens that good friend Manuel Sambs from Veiled Fury Entertainment knows Olympus inc. quite well so he joined us to help with the interview.

Find out what their favorite ice cream is, what Gary would like to dream about and witness Harrison's rise to professional journalism. All that in this informative and entertaining episode!
